Lemosho is ideal for trekkers seeking a quieter experience. Arrive at Londorossi Gate around 11am for registration. Then, a short drive takes you to the trailhead. The trek through the rainforests of Kilimanjaro offers scenic views of trees and birds. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the trail before reaching Mti Mkubwa Camp, where you will relax for the rest of the day.

Leave the rainforest behind as you enter Kilimanjaro’s moorland. When the trail flattens out, enjoy your first views of Kibo Peak. After lunch, trek across the Shira Plateau, formed by lava flows from Kibo, before reaching Shira 1 Camp for overnight rest.

This is an acclimatization day. The trek is shorter, allowing time to explore the Shira Plateau. Gain just over 1000 feet in elevation as you slowly adjust to the altitude.

Today's trek involves significant elevation gain and loss. Reach Lava Tower at 4,530 meters before descending to Barranco Camp. The route provides great acclimatization and stunning scenery.

Ascend the Barranco Wall in the morning before descending into Karanga Valley. This is a short but important acclimatization day, camping above the valley.

Today’s trek to Barafu Camp offers stunning glacier views and prepares you for the summit attempt. Arrive early to rest before the midnight ascent.
Trekking Hours: 11-14 hours
Begin the summit attempt at midnight. Reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating, descend to Mweka Camp for much-needed rest.
Trekking Hours: 3-4 hours
After breakfast, descend to Mweka Gate to receive your summit certificate before heading back to Moshi.
