Moshi is a town in northern Tanzania, near the Kenyan border. It is known as the gateway to Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. The city was originally established as a military camp by the Germans and quickly developed into a town, thanks to its railway station and the emerging coffee trade in the region.
Moshi is a melting pot where local markets sit alongside modern supermarkets, and three main religions—Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism—coexist peacefully. The town features local and international cafes and restaurants serving dishes from around the world.
This tour allows you to mingle with the local people, explore the farmer's market, visit souvenir shops, enjoy traditional Tanzanian dishes, and end at a historical site—the Old Railway Station. The trip lasts about 5 to 10 hours.
Explore Moshi on a bicycle, cycling at a leisurely pace to the Majengo district—the heartland of Moshi craft. Here, you'll find a dizzying array of handmade crafts and traditional artworks.
